Spring Pride Surf

Our first surf of 2023 - perfect for first timers to surfing, to regulars in the water. We'll be hosting lessons & sessions at Gwithian beach, with our QSC Base at the Farm Campsite (address below) in Porthleven.

INCLUSIVE SURFING 

The Queer Surf Club is a global community of LGBTQ+ surfers and allies. We're driven by our purpose of creating inclusive surfing to save our oceans. We know the more people we can get into the ocean, the more people passionate about saving them. We host meet ups to bring people from across all different identities to the ocean.

Subsidised Surf - QSC can help cover the costs of surf lessons & hire, as well as weekend expenses, for all our meet ups. If you would benefit from this, please just drop us an email on community@queersurfclub.com. Subsidisation is applicable to those who may need financial support, as well as trans folks, individuals of colour, disabled individuals and undocumented individuals. No explanation is required in your email.

Stay updated. Join our Slack server (you'll receive an invite once you sign up here, in a seperate email) to stay updated and meet new friends before the meet up. We'll share all the details on timings, locations and updates there. Please make sure you join this.

Surf Lessons: We'll be surfing and hosting lessons with Global Riders. Here's the breakdown for different lessons, or ticket types.

• Beginner lessons: perfect for anyone who has never surfed before, or surfed less than 2 weeks total
• Intermediate lessons: You've surfed for 2 or more weeks and are comfortable catching white water waves. You want to take your surfing to the next level/progress to green waves.
• Open Surf: you are self proficient in the water & you have your own surf equipment
• Open Ocean: you're more about, body boarding, or maybe wading up to your knees, or even just relaxing on the beach - rather than surfing. You're here to soak up the atmosphere. 

What's included in my Ticket?

Surf Hire  

• If you've booked a Beginners or Intermediate lesson ticket, all your wetsuit and board hire is included in your ticket. 
• If you've booked Open Surf, you will need your own equipment.
• If you need to hire surf equipment, you can arrange surf hire on the day from nearby locations. We always recommend sourcing your own hire before the weekend, if there's something particular you want.

Saturday Night Meal

• All tickets include a meal on Saturday Night, on the Farm. We will have food vegan and gluten free options available. If you have any specific dietary requirments, please let us know in the registration form. We will try our best to cater to all needs.

Addons:

Camping

• We have 30 spots for camping. You can add Camping at the Farm onto your ticket whilst it's available. The farm has all camping amenities, from hot showers, to toilets, to a communal chill out tipi. You will still need to bring all your own camping equipment.

What's not included in my ticket?

• Travel (although lots of the friendly QSC community usually help with lifts, ride sharing etc - on Slack)
• Food (Apart from a meal Saturday night)
• Accomodation  (we recommend lots of places stay, again, on Slack)
• Guranteed waves/surfing conditions - however, no matter what, we always plan to have fun in the sea!

Refunds

Tickets can be refunded no later than April 13th. 

Tickets bought after April 13th are non refundable.

Who can come? QSC meet up's are for people across all identities, especially those from under represented communities. (You do not have to be LGBTQ+ to attend. Instead, all people must agree to our community agreements, which you can find on Slack)
